dream dodger

As usual, I had some things on my mind and just came up with a title for the feeling. It feels like I am seeing my dreams arriving like the promise of a rainbow- only I feel turned around and like I am seeing sideways!

Then, I thought, maybe someone else has dodged their dreams. Who would ever guess?

I never play games. But, I have discovered a new video game in demo test mode.  The whole premise is the old guy is escaping the horrors of a retirement home. He is in a lucid dream mode due to an IV and he is just running constantly in the game to get away from the medical staff. I cringe with the sound of it. It’s like a medical simulation PAC MAN game from the 1980’s. Who does this stuff? Who spends time “dodging their dreams” in real life?

I don’t play games, but I do dodge my dreams. I have the things I have dreamed of moving towards me and I am standing still or running in the opposite direction. I even said, “Sometimes your dreams change” and ” I don’t think I want that dream anymore”. Imagine…..just 6 years ago, I would have been doing everything in my power to get to them and now, I watch in deep thought, just pondering why I don’t really feel the same.

These are big dreams. These are chances to live and work in the Virgin Islands, opportunities to be free financially, adorable cottages by the sea….it is a “dream come true”. And, I know I asked for it all. But, can your dreams come along too late? Do we change or do our dreams change?

I didn’t think anyone had ever thought of this, and maybe they haven’t, but they used the same phrase that came to me when I tried  to describe it!
