Fresh

As we see the sun rising at the dawn of a new day, we know it’s a fresh start.  We can start all over again if we have another day to try this one more time. We want to see the best in everyone. We want to be the best person we can be. The beauty of life is that we get to start “FRESH” each day. We step into the day fresh from the shower, brush our teeth and smile at what might come our way.

We have a little saying about the babies in our family as we smell their toes and gaze at their amazing little faces. Are they freshhhhh? We laugh and agree- yes, indeed!!!

Who doesn’t love the aroma of ‘fresh’ baked bread wafting in the air? Freshness is part of the allure of “Farm to table” ads.

Fresh is defined as 1. (of food) recently made or obtained; not canned, frozen, or otherwise preserved. 2.not previously known or used; new or different.

I do realize that there is a downside or alternate use of this word. To “get fresh with someone” to be impolite, impertinent and/or disrespectful in behaviour or attitude to someone. Don’t get fresh with me. ( Cheeky, forward, impertinent, brazen)

I prefer the use of fresh as “new or different”. A fresh approach to an old problem or a fresh look at something you have lost desire for or meeting a person who is “like a breath of fresh air.” Today, I embrace the freshness of this day and meeting my coworker for the ride to work together. We never know what we will talk about on the hour long drive, but the friendship itself is refreshing!
