Individuality

Each of us are unique. I believe the same is true for animals. I think they mimic us or we “see ourselves” in them.

Amelia and Lily are good examples- one is “just like me” and one is just like my daughter.

Here we have a squirrel that my friend called “sleepy”. He really is perched on the fence post right outside the area where the birds feed.  He doesn’t try to climb into the feeder. He prefers to scavenge the seeds on the ground or feed on other opportunities that present themselves. He is like my friend. He doesn’t exert himself unless it’s on his terms.

Here we have “stretch” the squirrel.  Yes, this is a squirrel proof bird feeder that worked pretty well at feeding only birds until the smart overachiever squirrel figured out how to reach wayyyyyy over and balance his left paw on the feeding station- not the leaver that would automatically toss him off.  He goes after what he wants. He doesn’t wait for the food to come to him, he works hard to get things done. He is like me.

On the inside of us are two sides – one wants to stretch and one wants to settle.

Sleepy settles on good enough is good enough.
Stretch lets go of things that didn’t work out and reaches forward.
Be your best self. Start believing in yourself, dreaming, seeking new opportunities, promotions, breakthroughs. Stir up your promises and start pursuing things. God will make a way where you don’t see a way.
