red sky

red sky at night

“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning”

I agree with the delightfulness of the sky at night. It casts shadows among the clouds until dusk when there is a bright reddish orange glow in the distance.

In the Bible, (Matthew XVI: 2-3,) Jesus said, “When in evening, ye say, it will be fair weather: For the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be foul weather today; for the sky is red and lowering.”

Farmers and watermen have depended on weather lore, old sayings and the ‘Farmer’s Almanac’ to help them plan their planting and navigating.

Just because science has not explained what we have passed down through the ages, does not mean it’s not true and based on natural laws. Have you thought about how long your parents told you that “fish” is brain food and to “eat your greens”. Finally, there is a whole plethora of nutrition science restating what we have heard for years. Would it take a rocket scientist to figure out that kids eating their meals out of snack machines can’t be as healthy as soup and a sandwich? Who needs someone else to tell them that pets are positive additions to your life? Barbra just released a new album with all the leading male vocalists in her signature duets. On her cover she states how much she is charmed by this little fluffy Samantha, by her poise, intelligence and unconditional love. Is it surprising that this release hit the top of the charts and is a number one seller? Does she look happy? Does she sound happy? Signs are, she is.

Streisand and SamanthaTonight, I am reminding myself that life is more simple than complex, if we listen to what we already know and use our sense(s). Would tonight be a good time to garden or boat? Yep, no doubt. Would it be better for me to have some chicken salad and fruit or a bag of chips and cheese dip? You got it. Would I need to be told or do I “just know”? Why do we ignore wisdom and turn blind eyes to everything learned by our predecessors? Because we think it can’t be that simple. Well, it might be- just that simple. The sun rises and sets, every day, on schedule. Choices have consequences. We surround ourselves with what we love and love what we have chosen.
